College/Department Information The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University offers hands‑on education through research, patient care, and service. The college serves students through three practice models—student clinics, resident care, and the faculty practice—providing comprehensive dental services across Georgia.

Job Summary Under general supervision, perform tasks to aid the ongoing flow of external and internal lab cases. Work independently to research and resolve flow control issues and respond to client requests. Ensure lab cases are accurately recorded in patient history for charges and payments and reconcile invoices for external laboratories. Maintain inventory of implant parts and precious metal for the Dental College of Georgia.

Responsibilities

Process the daily flow of dental lab cases (both internal and external) for the Dental College of Georgia. Log all cases into the database, monitor for timely processing, and track patient account payments.

Maintain inventory of all stocked items for the DCG. Order through PeopleSoft, McKesson, Healthy Shop, and the AxiUm inventory system. Replenish stock as needed, plan for future requirements, and track all orders from start to finish to ensure timely delivery and payments.

Schedule and monitor pickup and delivery of cases by external labs. Reconcile lab invoices and process paperwork for payment. Coordinate with labs for discrepancies in charges and pickup/delivery problems.

Assist students, faculty, and residents with supplies and instruments for all patient care activities and pre‑clinical activities. Maintain electronic inventory control of all items and keep supplies for all clinics, dispensaries, and clinical labs.

Perform other job‑related duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

OR high school diploma, GED, or equivalent with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible office support experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Certified dental technician, dental assistant, experience in a dental lab, or previous inventory control experience.

Knowledge of AxiUm software.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Understanding of dental terminology and lab processes.

Initiative and attention to detail; ability to manage time and work independently.

Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and customer service skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, learn PeopleSoft, multitask, prioritize, and interact effectively with a wide‑range population.

Shift/Salary/Benefits Shift: Days/M‑F Pay Band: B3 Salary: Minimum $16.54/hour, commensurate with qualifications within the established range (generally minimum‑midpoint). Benefits: Health, dental, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan), earned vacation time, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. Full‑time employees eligible after 6 months may qualify for the Tuition Assistance Program.
