Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Special Procedures Technician.
In this role, the successful candidate assists in the performance of medically prescribed radiographs and interventional procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Demonstrates knowledge of the hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to radiology.
Functions as a respectful member of the health care team.
Maintains supplies and cleanliness of space, restocks supplies as needed.
Notifies supervisor of any shortage of any supplies.
Handles stressful situations with little or no supervision.
Maintains confidentiality on matters to which they are privileged.
Answers patient questions to ensure understanding and patient satisfaction.
Maintain cooperative and professional relationships with physicians, nurses and office and clinical staff.
Demonstrates skill in equipment set‑up, utilization and proper maintenance procedure.
Implements patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
Effectively assesses patients information and status, and follows appropriate procedure(s) accordingly.
Performs interventional and general radiographic and fluoroscopic exams for evaluation and treatment by physician.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma and 5 year relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificate from accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
New York State license with IV Contrast Certification.
Five (5) years experience as an X‑ray Technologist.
Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
Required Licenses Radiologic Tech Lic - NYS, Am Registry Of Radiologic Tech
Preferred Qualifications
Registered Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Experience in interventional radiology.
College graduate.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $85,890.00 - $96,930.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
