Job Summary

Highly skilled bioinformatics analyst with expertise in scRNA‑seq, bulk RNA‑seq analysis, spatial transcriptomics, and multi‑omics integration in cancer genomics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop reproducible pipelines for differential expression, pathway enrichment, and immune deconvolution; proficiency in Python (pandas, TensorFlow, MATLAB), R, and SQL.
  • Design and maintain robust ETL frameworks (Pentaho, Airflow) and deploy solutions on cloud platforms (GCP, Docker, BigQuery); ensure secure data integration and role‑based access control.
  • Demonstrate track record across all stages of the data lifecycle—collection, preprocessing, feature engineering, model development, training, evaluation, deployment, and integration of interactive dashboards into unified front‑end platforms.
  • Other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements – Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in data analytics, information systems, and/or institutional research in higher education.
  • Abilities
    • Maintain confidentiality.
    • Use sound judgment and work independently.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Shift / Salary / Benefits

Shift: Days/M‑F (exempt role may require outside normal business hours)

Pay Band: B12 | Salary Range: $62,300–$72,000 annually (commensurate with qualifications within the range).

Recruitment Period: 10/9/25 – Until Filled

Benefits: Full‑time benefit‑eligible employees may elect health, dental, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan), earned vacation, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. Tuition Assistance Program available after 6 months of employment.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must successfully pass a Background Check prior to starting.
  • Credit check may be required for Positions of Trust and/or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.
  • Motor vehicle reports required for positions that require driving an Augusta University vehicle.
  • Faculty hires must provide proof of completed academic degree(s) and post‑secondary coursework (original transcripts); foreign‑trained candidates require educational/credential evaluation.
