Litigation Secretary - Plaintiff Personal Injury (Catastrophic Cases)

We are seeking a highly skilled Litigation Secretary with extensive experience in civil litigation, particularly plaintiff personal injury cases involving catastrophic injuries. This role supports a busy desk within a dynamic and fast-paced legal team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling complex personal injury cases.
  • Prepare, format, and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and trial documents.
  • Manage attorney calendars; schedule depositions, court appearances, and client meetings.
  • Coordinate with clients, experts, medical providers, and court personnel.
  • Maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic).
  • Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit binders, witness lists, and trial logistics.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely filings in state and federal courts.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of litigation secretary experience, with strong emphasis on civil litigation and plaintiff personal injury.
  • Experience with catastrophic injury cases highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in California court rules and e-filing procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
