ICER BRANDS is hiring: Production Coordinator in New York
ICER BRANDS, New York, NY, United States, 10261
We are seeking a detail-oriented, visually sharp, and highly organized Garment Production Coordinator to manage the strike‑off, lab dip, and pre‑production approval process. This fast‑paced role sits at the critical intersection of design intent and factory execution, ensuring every color, print, wash, and construction detail matches our brand standards before bulk production begins. You will be the primary point of contact between our internal design/technical teams and overseas/domestic factories, reviewing and approving (or revising) hundreds of strike‑offs and lab dips per season under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and critically evaluate physical and digital strike‑offs, lab dips, print strike‑offs, embroidery approvals, and trim submissions for color accuracy, print placement, scale, hand‑feel, and construction details.
- Create clear, professional, and concise revision comments using Adobe Illustrator (tech‑pack style markups, color callouts, construction sketches, etc.).
- Correspond daily with factories via email, WeChat, and PLM systems in a polite yet firm manner to drive quick corrections and re‑submissions.
- Maintain an organized approval tracker and photo library for every style/colorway.
- Collaborate closely with Designers, Technical Designers, and Merchandising to resolve issues and keep development calendars on track.
- Participate in fittings when needed and translate fit comments into actionable factory instructions.
- Prioritize workload efficiently during peak seasons when 50–100+ strike‑offs can arrive in a single week.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience in production or product development within the fashion apparel industry (preferably with factories in Asia, Central America, or Europe).
- Strong visual eye and deep understanding of color theory, dyeing techniques, printing processes, and garment construction.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (must be able to create clean, annotated tech flats, print placements, and revision markups quickly).
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
- Solid grasp of garment measurement techniques (point‑of‑measure specs) and ability to read and update tech packs.
- Fast learner who can quickly understand and strictly adhere to the brand guidelines, artwork rules, and approval protocols of our licensing partners.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication; additional language skills (Mandarin) are a strong advantage.
- Proven ability to stay calm and organized under pressure in a high‑volume, deadline‑driven environment.
- Design or technical design background is a big plus.
Personal Attributes
- Extremely detail‑oriented with zero tolerance for color or construction inaccuracies.
- Diplomatic yet assertive when pushing factories for faster turnarounds and higher quality.
- Proactive problem‑solver who anticipates issues before they escape.
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced creative environment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Apparel Production, or related field preferred but not required with relevant experience.
Seniority level
- Mid‑Senior level
