Per Diem MOHS Technician - Dermatology
Join the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, dedicated to delivering superior, comprehensive dermatologic care and advancing the science of dermatology.
The Per Diem MOHS Technician assists in the process of tissue removal and microscopic examination of skin cancer cells. The MOHS Technician performs extensive administrative duties involving medical record keeping, developing laboratory protocols, and following federal and state guidelines. They may assist the surgeon in all stages of surgery when needed.
Responsibilities
Provide skilled surgical and medical support to the MOHS surgeon with patients’ care, comfort, safety, and confidentiality.
Prepare patients’ charts, forms, instruments, and other equipment as needed for surgery.
Perform routine housekeeping duties and maintain sterile technique; keep rooms stocked with supplies and linens.
Room patients, take detailed patient history, and ensure patients are properly draped for the exam.
Set up for surgical removal and assist surgeon.
Perform other related duties.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Surgical Technician, or LPN program.
Certification preferred.
