Base Pay Range:
$96,336.00/yr – $121,413.00/yr
Responsibilities
Manage a team of Cognos developers and oversee their workloads.
Create and maintain data modules in Cognos Analytics for report creation.
Develop and maintain standard reports using Cognos Analytics Report Studio.
Build and maintain analysis dashboards.
Research and analyze data to recommend optimal solutions based on requirements.
Collaborate with DBAs to enhance report functionality.
Review and approve projects for migration to production.
Work with users to define business requirements for new and ongoing reporting projects.
Review and update report and dashboard specification documents.
Assist with server administration and security.
Create and modify SQL statements.
Perform all supervisory duties.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Eligible NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4 (SG25) or higher, or in a position at the SG23 level or above deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law.
Title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law.
Transfer shall not be a second consecutive transfer leading to advancement of more than two salary grades.
Applicants must be listed on the current eligible list for the position title to be considered for appointment.
Additional Considerations:
ITS will not offer permanent employment unless proof of U.S. work authorization is provided.
Policy requires no hiring of F1 or H1 visa holders for permanent employment and no sponsorship of non‑immigrant aliens for temporary work authorization visas or permanent residence.
Some positions may require fingerprinting.
Positions may require up to 25% travel and/or lifting up to 50 lbs.
Certain positions are pending civil service approval. Details will be provided during the interview stage.
Eligible positions in New York City receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment; Mid‑Hudson positions receive an additional $1,650 adjustment.
