and must be open to relocation.
Location & Shift Shift schedule:
A side Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, & every other Wednesday 6a – 6p
A side Nights: Same days as above except 6p – 6a
B side Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & every other Wednesday 6a – 6p
B side Nights: Same as Above except 6p – 6a.
Responsibilities
Move, inspect, and install servers, switches, and GPU components according to cable maps and standards.
Bundle cables neatly and ensure correct connectivity; double‑check with network admins.
Audit servers and consumables; troubleshoot server issues and isolate problems.
Order replacement parts, install them, and ship defective parts to vendors.
Update firmware and configure IP addresses and default credentials on servers.
Assist network admins with cable replacement, routing, optics, and upgrade parts for servers and switches.
Temporarily rack and stack servers or switches so network admins can remotely log in and run configurations.
Deploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
Perform break‑fix tasks for GPUs, servers, network, and cabling; manage tickets using ITSM tools.
Land fully populated GPU or network racks within the data center environment: rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot‑air containment, and overhead cable containment trays.
Interpret BOMs to ensure all materials are accounted for; install, test, and label copper and fiber infrastructures.
Handle and install optical modules (SFPs, QSFP style connectors); scope and clean fibers (SC, LC, MPO styles).
Patch fiber and copper cables; rack and stack equipment within existing racks.
Lead and manage teams effectively; manage multiple simultaneous projects under high stress.
Ensure compliance with safety measures and data center standards; monitor project deadlines and provide status updates to project managers.
Provide daily communication and document progress using tracking mechanisms, MS Office, and digital photos.
Qualifications
3–10+ years of deployment and/or break‑fix experience in a data center.
Extensive experience with landing fully populated GPU or network racks within a data center environment.
Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies (copper, fiber SM/MM/MPO, routing, dressing, connectors).
Experience installing optical modules (SFP, QSFP) and scoping/cleaning fibers (SC, LC, MPO).
Experience with racking and stacking equipment within existing racks; patching fiber and copper cables.
Proven experience leading teams.
Willingness to travel as required; experience with DC power and DC‑powered equipment.
Strong communication skills and ability to document progress using tracking mechanisms, MS Office, and digital photos.
Experience working in a Microsoft data center environment.
Familiarity with telecom engineering designs specific to enterprise‑level data centers.
Skills
Data center, deployment, fiber optic cable, rack and stack, cabling, troubleshooting, Cat6, Cat5, GPU.
Preferred Certifications
CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience.
CompTIA Server+ or equivalent experience.
CCENT or equivalent experience.
Windows OS experience.

Scripting experience preferred – PowerShell, Python, Bash.
