Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Ability to provide skilled evaluation, treatment & care for pediatric patients (newborns through young adults) in accordance with the State of Maryland & District of Columbia Nursing Scope of Practice.
Understanding and ability to apply principles of teaching and learning to patients and/or caregivers with varied abilities and learning needs.
Organized approach to work tasks, responsibilities & meets time requirements.
Work Location DC Area
Work Hours 40 hours per week (8 or 10 hour shifts available)
Weekend Requirement Yes (Rotating weekends)
Take Call Yes
Preferred Experience And/or Skills
Three years (minimum) experience working in acute care facility on a pediatric unit or department; preferably in critical care or ED.
Prior experience and/or skills in administering high tech infusions such as Biologics, Immunotherapy or Chemotherapy.
Ability to care for and maintain central venous access devices (CVAD) including sterile technique when applicable, accessing ports, and removal of PICCs.
Ability to place peripheral catheters (PIVs) in pediatric patients (newborns through young adults).
Ability to learn and use new technologies and computer programs quickly and effectively.
Salary Range: Minimum $36.31/hour - Maximum $56.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
