The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee and manage all operations related to a company’s vehicle fleet, ensuring the fleet is safe, efficient, cost‑effective, and compliant with regulations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure Operations Managers perform basic routine vehicle inspections Ensure that drivers perform basic maintenance and repair operations, e.g., oil changes Schedule maintenance/service for fleet (100k mile service, brake repairs, electrical repairs, battery replacements, water pumps, tune‑ups, tire replacements, emissions/inspections, and transmission) Arrange for movement of vehicles to and from outside repair shops Arrange for movement of vehicles to and from their assigned drivers when required Build and upfit new fleet vehicles, including vehicle upfitting and GPS Accurately install and remove vehicle logos, lettering and decals Arrange for detailing of fleet vehicles Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips and submit reports indicating truck condition Purchase vehicles to expand and/or enhance the fleet Register and insure all vehicles Maintain driver alert program for all drivers Manage vehicle accidents Conduct new‑hire driver training Manage DOT regulations as required Manage budgeting of vehicle purchases Manage reporting of vehicle maintenance and fleet listings Manage oil‑change scheduling software Perform other duties as required Qualifications
Prior experience working as a fleet manager, logistics manager or in a similar job role is preferred Mechanically inclined – interest in vehicles Valid driver’s license to operate different modes of the fleet Proficiency in using software/technology (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook) Outstanding analytical, decision‑making and leadership skills Good written and spoken communication skills Must be organized and a self‑starter Equal Opportunity Employer
