Purpose:
Support departmental procurement for a semiconductor manufacturing facility by processing purchase requests, resolving vendor issues, and ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal regulations, while maintaining documentation and assisting with project tracking and team support.
Responsibilities:
Process purchase requests for goods and services; research outstanding orders, exchanges, and credits from vendors.
Verify vendors’ eligibility on state and federal systems.
Engage with university departments and vendors as needed.
Provide guidance and training in procurement responsibilities; manage the departmental purchasing mailbox and ensure timely responses.
Ensure processes align with university, state, and federal regulations, including record‑retention policies.
Maintain documentation and implement best practices.
Track and manage projects; act as backup to team members as directed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply‑chain management, or related field (or high‑school diploma/GED with ≥ 3 years of procurement, purchase‑order processing, and/or vendor‑management experience).
Experience with small purchase‑order transactions at UT.
Experience working with semiconductor vendors or in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, and DocuSign.
Ability to interpret policies and implement procedures.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication; professional demeanor; commitment to customer service; able to work independently and collaboratively with high accuracy.
