Parks Maintenance Foreman
The Scottsdale Parks & Recreation Department is searching for a dynamic Parks Maintenance Foreman to lead the team that keeps Scottsdale's outdoors thriving. Primarily supporting Vista Del Camino Park, this role enjoys Scottsdale's abundant sunshine and blue skies with every day bringing something new in an ever‑changing environment. As a Parks Maintenance Foreman, you'll help shape the green spaces, hiking trails, sports fields, and playgrounds that make Scottsdale a #WorldClassCommunity. This position is about more than maintenance—it's about leadership, teamwork, and delivering #SimplyBetterService by ensuring our parks remain safe, vibrant, and welcoming for the citizens and visitors who enjoy them.
Responsibilities
Supervising and coaching employees, approving schedules, and writing performance evaluations
Promoting teamwork and continuous improvement while planning and directing grounds maintenance activities
Monitoring daily work progress and providing constructive feedback to staff
Scheduling and coordinating equipment maintenance on yearly, weekly, and quarterly calendars
Maintaining accurate records, performing audits, and managing work system reports
Identifying hazards, responding to emergencies, and recommending improvements in the field
Preparing and monitoring budgets, ensuring resources are used wisely, and ordering supplies
Salary Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to the mid‑point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and the mid‑point for this position is $37.35 / hour.

Education and Experience
A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent.
Three years of experience in landscaping, turf management, parks maintenance, or a related field.
Six months of supervisory experience in landscaping, turf management, parks maintenance, or a related field.
Licensing, Certifications, and Other Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Arizona driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date.
Within six months of hire, an Arizona Pest Control Applicator certification possessing Category 1 (Industrial and Institutional), Category 3 (Ornamental & Turf), and Category 4 (Right‑of‑Way) must be obtained.
Preferred: any combination of the following
Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI).
International Society of Arboricultural (ISA) Certified Arborist.
Extension Turf Grass Certification.
Certified SportsField Manager.
