Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Learning & Development (L&D) professional
to design and develop high-quality training solutions for technical and non-technical audiences. This is a hands‑on instructional design role focused on needs analysis, curriculum development, stakeholder collaboration, and delivery enablement. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in
adult learning methodologies
and proven experience developing a variety of training materials, including eLearning.
Training Analysis & Design
Conduct training needs assessments and job/task analyses, including facilitating focus groups and working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs).
Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective training strategies and solutions.
Define training scope, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
Content Development
Design and develop a wide range of training materials, including:
Job aids and quick reference guides
eLearning modules
Virtual and instructor‑led training (ILT/VILT)
Interpret and translate complex technical documentation (functional specifications, test scripts, vendor documentation) into clear, learner‑friendly training content.
Apply instructional design best practices and adult learning principles throughout development.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Delivery
Manage client expectations and communicate project status, risks, and recommendations.
Lead and facilitate SME meetings to gather content and validate training materials.
Deliver and facilitate
train‑the‑trainer
sessions.
Troubleshoot training‑related issues and proactively resolve roadblocks.
Project & Workflow Management
Manage multiple training projects simultaneously, including scope, milestones, schedules, deliverables, and resources.
Adapt to changing priorities and work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Education, Instructional Design, Business, or a related technical discipline , or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and developing systems, technical, or enterprise training materials.
Demonstrated experience applying
instructional design and adult learning methodologies
(e.g.,
ADDIE, SAM ).
Proficiency in
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SnagIt .
Hands‑on experience with
at least one eLearning authoring tool , such as:
Articulate Storyline or Rise
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including facilitation and presentation capabilities.
Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, SMEs, vendors, and leadership.
Demonstrated success managing multiple projects concurrently.
Self‑starter who is flexible, adaptable, organized, and comfortable working in ambiguous environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a
utility company
or similarly regulated environment.
Experience using
Visio
and
SharePoint
for training development.
Experience developing training within an
Agile software development
environment.
Experience supporting
SAP or Salesforce
implementations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
