Project Manager
Part‑time contract position, approximately 15–20 hours per week at Chelsea Handegan LLC, Charleston, SC.
Compensation: $35–$45 per hour based on experience, or equivalent annual salary of $25‑$50k. Flexible start date.
Key Responsibilities
Own client communications: provide updates, follow up with vendors, showrooms, and workrooms
Manage project tracking, deadlines, and timelines in Studio Designer
Prepare proposals, budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and reports in Studio Designer
Anticipate next steps and act proactively to prevent delays
Keep workflows and processes organized
Minimal bookkeeping and admin coordination (optional)
Requirements
Complete knowledge of Studio Designer (budgets, proposals, POs, invoices, reports)
Complete working knowledge of AutoCAD; able to draw plans and furniture from scratch, following office CAD standards
Understanding of client relationship management and ability to deliver a high level of service
Proven experience in project management or client operations, ideally in interior design or a related field
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Self‑directed and proactive, able to manage projects without constant oversight
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Thinks ahead and prevents problems before they happen
Can manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
Comfortable coordinating between clients, vendors, and internal team members
Reliable and consistent with hours and communication
Ability to travel to client sites as needed is a plus

The firm offers comprehensive design solutions from conception—including traditional construction details and techniques—through installation, maintaining strong relationships with trusted dealers, workrooms, and vendors.
Our studio is lean, efficient, and client‑focused, serving a discerning clientele. We are looking for a proactive Project Manager to help run operations smoothly, freeing the principal to focus on creative work while maintaining the high standard of service our clients expect.
