Electrical Controls Engineer Opportunity

Job Description We are seeking a mid-level Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to support a diverse range of projects, from small studies to large multi-million dollar turnkey supplies. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, organized, capable of effective communication across all levels of the organization, and adept at meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed electrical specifications for selection, focusing on part and equipment design.
Engage in PLC programming, primarily with Allen Bradley PLCs, but experience with other PLCs is also valuable.
Participate in the design and implementation of control system designs.
Utilize expertise in instrumentation controls and equipment specification.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in PLC programming and industrial control systems.
Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and HMI programming, particularly with FactoryTalk.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer Science, or Mechatronics.
US Citizenship is required.
Experience in Controls/Electrical Engineering, specifically writing code using Rockwell or other PLCs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge in electronics, instrumentation, control, and data acquisition systems.
Familiarity with variable frequency drive systems, motion control systems, sensors and transmitters, actuators, PID control, and communication networks.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with at least one year of engineering experience.
Willingness to travel (30% travel required).
Work Environment This role requires on-site presence with half days on Fridays, offering a 40-hour work week with minimal overtime. The position entails travel to customer sites for meetings, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Engineers will work with technologies such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, industrial instrumentation, and data acquisition measurement systems.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 – $57.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
