Position Summary The Sheikh Lab within the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team. Our lab focuses on understanding the biological events responsible for dynamically regulating the selective expression of the mammalian genome in the context of immune responses in the intestine and other autoimmune diseases, including lupus. We uniquely combine immunology, molecular biology, and high‑throughput genome‑wide tools to visualize changes in chromatin structure and function in human cells and animal models.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD, PharmD, and/or MD degree
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong academic track record
Work well in a goal‑oriented team setting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with mammalian cell culture, basic biochemical, and molecular biology techniques
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Background in computational biology (preferred)
Experience with basic RNA‑seq analysis (advantageous)
Willingness to learn computational analysis of sequencing data, as the group is able to provide training
