Compensation Base pay range: $37.80 /hr – $55.40 /hr. Sign‑on and relocation bonuses are available.

Work Schedule Full‑time. 36‑hour and 40‑hour work‑week options.

Job Description

Use the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.

Prioritize the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently, integrating a standards‑based framework.

Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs and responses.

Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Perform assessments as per unit standards and document on the assessment flow sheet.

Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or by protocol.

Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs.

Evaluate patient progression toward outcomes per unit policies and document outcomes.

Perform competently in emergency situations.

Delegate or assign aspects of patient care to team members with appropriate competency.

Supervise LPNs and non‑licensed assistive personnel.

Provide leadership through communication and validation of patient care.

Assist with various procedures, treatments, surgical techniques, or assign to other team members as appropriate.

Complete patient population/age‑specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing.

Assist in the orientation of new staff or students and act as a resource and role model.

Maintain professionalism in accordance with nursing structure, guidelines, and policies.

Support the organizational mission and values.

Assume other leadership roles such as relief charge nurse as required.

Professional Requirements

In‑service requirements: age‑specific training, BLS, safety training, bloodborne pathogen/infection/respiratory fit testing.

Participation in unit/department governance.

Adherence to dress code and ID badge policy.

Continued education documentation.

Positive communication with patients, peers, and other team members.

Participation in quality improvement activities.

Reliable attendance record.

Completion of mandatory in‑services, competencies, and licensure requirements on time.

Adherence to safety and equipment policies.

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Nursing.

State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.

BLS certification required at time of hire.

ACLS: Surgical Services Pre‑Op and Recovery Room.

PALS: Surgical Services Pre‑Op and Recovery Room.

1+ years of OR experience highly preferred.
