Job Summary The Inside Sales Account Manager supports the Sales & Marketing Departments by managing customer account relationships, promoting Border States products and services, and maximizing sales potential through phone, email, and occasional face‑to‑face meetings. The role also involves coordinating pricing, inventory, and vendor relationships, and providing strategic input to pricing, purchasing, and marketing teams.
Responsibilities Essential Functions
Meet or exceed sales and gross profit objectives.
Proactively develop contacts and secure orders via phone, email, and web conferencing.
Qualify leads and conduct cold calls.
Create account plans and achieve sales objectives.
Elevate medium potential accounts to high potential for field coverage.
Ensure quality customer support through expediting, pricing, follow‑up, returns, and other services.
Provide timely follow‑up on technical inquiries, including after‑business hours.
Document TCCM cost savings relevant to the customer base.
Direct use of marketing tools, technical specialists, and company capabilities to support a coordinated sales strategy.
Coordinate sales strategies with preferred vendors.
Manage and direct company sales and support resources to maximize sales and profit potential.
Advise sales management on marketing plans and strategies.
Provide input to staff on customer needs regarding pricing, products, service, competition, procedures, and market potential.
Provide strategic input to pricing and purchasing on competitive issues.
Non‑essential Functions
Advise CFS staff on creditworthiness and ownership changes.
Lead and attend sales meetings and technical training.
Assist with sales meetings, trade shows, and training programs.
Coordinate with CFS to resolve billing issues.
Entertain clients as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, trade, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4 years of customer service, marketing, quotation, or sales experience.
Minimum 4 years in electrical distribution and quotations.
Technical competence in electrical systems.
Experience with contract negotiation.
Experience presenting to large groups.
Proficiency in English: read, write, and speak.
Strong PC skills (Windows, Office, SAP).

Effective planning and organization.
Read one‑line electrical diagrams.
