Position Summary
Position: Production Scheduler
Reports to: Master Scheduler
Location: Greenville, SC
Areas of Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules to meet customer demand and production targets.
Utilize MRP / MPS system to coordinate materials and production plans.
Collaborate with production teams, supply chain, and other relevant departments to gather information on production capacity, material availability, and resource constraints.
Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement in the production process.
Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components for production.
Optimize production schedules to maximize efficiency, minimize downtime, and reduce overall lead times.
Communicate production schedules to relevant stakeholders and provide regular updates on progress。
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production schedules, identifying and addressing deviations from the plan.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance activities without disrupting production schedules.
Continuously evaluate and improve production scheduling processes to enhance overall productivity.
Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends to implement relevant improvements in production scheduling.
Recommend process and equipment improvements to optimize production capabilities.
Produce reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas needing improvement.
Responsible for work order management and schedule attainment.
Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Proficiency in using production scheduling software and familiarity with ERP systems.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
Understanding of safety and quality standards in manufacturing.
Flexibility to work non‑standard hours when necessary to meet production demands.
Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
Education and/or Training
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of five years of proven experience as a Production Scheduler or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times.
Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
