General Description The Accountant must be experienced and detail-oriented with strong expertise in QuickBooks. He or she must be proficient in inventory management and cost accounting. This role is crucial in analyzing, tracking, and managing costs related to the manufacture and distribution of our products, ensuring cost efficiency, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting strategic decision‑making. The Accountant plays a key role in financial management and reporting. He or she will be responsible for overseeing and managing day‑to‑day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, conducting audits, and providing tax support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP principles, and experience with audits and tax preparation. Qualifications And Basic Requirements
At least ten years’ accounting experience engaging in duties similar to the Essential Job Duties
At least five years’ experience with QuickBooks, preferably QuickBooks Desktop
At least five years’ payroll processing experience
Five years’ experience in cost accounting, ideally within a manufacturing environment
At least five years’ experience reconciling invoices and bank accounts, and preparing financial statements
High school graduate or equivalent
Achieve satisfactory results of background and employment screening checks, a credit check, drug screening, and medical‑physical exam
Have and maintain a clear and valid Texas Class C or higher driver license and a satisfactory driving record
Preferences
Bachelor's degree in accounting, or, in Business Administration with a concentration of coursework in accounting, from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education
Essential Job Duties
Use QuickBooks efficiently and effectively to input data, analyze accounts, make adjusting journal entries as necessary, and prepare reports
Maintain extensive manufacturing inventory records and work directly with Management for inventory control
Reconcile inventory accounts and assist in investigating discrepancies
Develop, implement and/or improve inventory control practices
Analyze inventory trends and identify opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvement
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Assist with the development of annual budgets and forecasts
Work closely with various departments to gather information, understand cost drivers, and recommend improvements
Provide financial support for cost reduction and system projects and serve as a key resource for financial analysis and decision‑making
