The Controller will be responsible for providing oversight for the development of all financial and accounting activities and staff under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Be a strong business partner and collaborator to the financial leadership team. Develop a strong accounting team, including developing competencies and collaboration through people development and coaching. Provide the financial acumen and leadership required to deliver accurate financial records. Proactively engage in developing the accounting team by promoting a culture of continuous improvement, setting high standards, and promoting a teamwork environment within the team and with the rest of the organization. Direct and assist in the weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements including related financial analysis. Review and manage the process for coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements. Coordinate activities of external auditors. Provide the CFO with feedback on evaluated results and on information vital to the decision‑making process. Assist in the management of current accounting operations related to inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and internal controls; offer recommendations for improvement and manage the implementation of new processes. Monitor and manage the manufacturing accounting systems and related policy and procedures, including setting of standard costs, variance analysis, inventory accuracy, internal controls, ERP system integrity, etc. Check the accuracy of regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance. Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA certification and/or master’s degree are a plus. 10+ years of experience in relevant finance roles (Accounting / Controlling) with over 5 years of leadership experience, including at least 3 years in accounting/financial analysis within a manufacturing company. Plant controllership experience, preferably with experience ramping up/down operations in a multi-location consolidated corporation. Blow‑film extrusion experience is a plus. Lead with unquestionable ethics and integrity and possess excellent communication skills. Have a solid understanding of general accounting, inventory, and cost accounting and the ability to solve unstructured business and accounting problems. Have led multiple priorities with little day‑to‑day direction and can respond quickly and positively to change. Possess a dynamic, detail‑oriented, and proactive attitude and a disciplined and organized personality, thriving in a matrix organization. Must be computer literate with data mining and ERP systems, and have advanced capability with Microsoft Excel. Seniority level
