Position Summary As a Journeyman Electrician at Freedom Forever, you will bring your electrical skills and your Journeyman’s or Limited Electrician's license to help grow our residential solar business in Maine. Your primary responsibility will be to safely plan and perform electrical work for residential solar projects, ensuring compliance with state and local codes and standards.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Assemble all components of a residential solar system
Work with the crew to complete photovoltaic system installs (PV)
Follow safe work practices and ensure that work is performed in a workmanlike manner, compliant with all State and local codes and standards
Follow OSHA, NEC, AHJ and Utility requirements
Diagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve electrical issues
Provide quality customer service throughout the installation
Document work by taking pictures and completing work orders
Upload photos and update job status in the company database when work is complete
Maintain strong knowledge and experience of conduit bending (EMT) to consistently produce quality work
Qualifications Requirements
Journeyman or Limited Electrician Licensed Required
Qualified to drive a company vehicle during the workday
Minimum 3 years of electrical installation and repair experience
Strong knowledge of current NEC codes
Must maintain a valid driver’s license
Use time prioritization skills to achieve required timelines
Ability to read and interpret single and three-line drawings
High school diploma, GED
Physical Demands and Abilities
Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects
Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls
Stand, walk, or run for long periods of time
Climb ladders, scaffolds, or poles
Repeatedly kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, crawl, or reach out
See details of objects that are less than a few feet away
See differences between colors, shades, and brightness
Determine the distance between objects
While looking forward, see objects or movements that are off to the side
Hold the arm and hand steady or hold the hand steady while moving the arm
Move two or more limbs together (example: two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place
Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods of time
Keep or regain the body's balance or stay upright when in an unstable position
React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet
Understand the speech of another person
Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects
Lift 50+ pounds
