Job Summary:
The Bistro/Cafeteria Attendant at The Sheraton Palo Alto is responsible for providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean and organized cafeteria and bistro area. This individual contributor role is a full-time, hourly position located in Palo Alto, California. The Bistro/Cafeteria Attendant will report to the Food and Beverage Manager and work as part of a dynamic team to ensure a positive dining experience for all associates.
Compensation & Benefits: The compensation for this position is $22 per hour, with paychecks distributed biweekly. The Sheraton Palo Alto also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and access to hotel discounts.
Responsibilities:
Set tables with clean condiments
Maintain food prep of the salad bar for freshness and quality and monitor hot food quality levels
Maintain a clean and organized dining area, following all health and safety regulations. This may require cleaning walls, shelves, furniture and equipment throughout the Bistro during shift
Stock and replenish inventory and supplies (china, glass and silver) as needed, ensuring the availability of these items at all times
Perform janitorial duties as needed, such as cleaning work stations, emptying trash, sweeping and mopping
Clean and stock the Bistro throughout the day as necessary
Remove dishes, food and silverware from the kitchen to the Bistro
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent education required
Willingness to be a team player and contribute
Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and safety standards is preferred
Proven written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
CA food handlers certification
Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds without assistance and stand for long periods of time
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends and holidays, is required
