Position Summary The Clinical Research Associate will work at the Mind & Brain Health Labs (MBHL, Department of Neurological Sciences) with the principal investigator and research team to coordinate, develop, and conduct clinical research projects aimed at improving patient health, disease treatment, and quality of life in individuals who are aging or have neurological, psychiatric, physiologic, or other medical disorders. Will assist with clinical research projects from start to finish to support successful communication, coordination, regulatory and protocol compliance, and work across a diverse, multidisciplinary team to meet project goals. Required Qualifications
Education : High School education or equivalent
If any degree major/training is required, please specify the type. (NOTE: Concentration and minors are not equivalent to a major)
Experience : 3 years of related healthcare, laboratory and/or clinical research experience (or equivalent) with experience related to healthcare, laboratory and/or clinical research. Will consider three years related post high school education/experience.
License : Valid Driver’s License
Computer Applications : Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Legally and safely drive a vehicle. Safely identify and respond to driving safety events/concerns.
Adhere to detailed protocols and guidelines independently with accuracy and quality.
Self-review and monitor work for quality, task needs, and timeline adherence, including effectively reporting and addressing of issues.
Problem‑solving skills and ability to find solutions to problems.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively/professionally with diverse teams in demanding environments.
Able to maintain professional working relationships and demonstrate patience, empathy and responsiveness with individuals who have a range of age or disease‑related impairments.
Preferred Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Preferred Experience:
2 years of experience working in a laboratory, research, or clinical setting.
Experience with human subjects research/regulations/study conduct, participant recruitment, data collection, and test administration/evaluation or experience working with patients in clinical or other settings, including clinical evaluation/exams, HIPAA, and medical records.
Experience working with elderly, patient, and impaired populations.
Preferred License: No
Preferred Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Statistical knowledge and training (descriptive statistics, data visualization, significance testing) and knowledge of research design/data analysis.
Computer skills including advanced Microsoft Office Excel knowledge (e.g., formulas, macros, graphing), Adobe Photoshop, medical records (EPIC/OneChart), research databases (REDCap), and general computer/IT technical troubleshooting ability/knowledge.
Programming ability, particularly statistical programming (R, Python).
