CTPAT Compliance Specialist

Position Summary The CTPAT Compliance Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s CTPAT (s Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) security program. This role ensures that all international trade and supply chain operations comply with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) security standards and related government regulations. The Specialist serves as the main point of contact for CTPAT validations, audits, and communication with CBP officials.
Responsibilities
Program Management:
Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s CTPAT security profile, procedures, and documentation.
Compliance Oversight:
Ensure compliance with CTPAT Minimum Security Criteria (MSC) across all business units, partners, and service providers.
Risk Assessment:
Conduct periodic supply chain risk assessments, focusing on physical, IT, and personnel security.
Training:
Develop and deliver CTPAT training to employees, contractors, and business partners to promote a security-aware culture.
Audit & Validation:
Prepare for and lead internal and external CTPAT validations, audits, and reviews.
Vendor Management:
Verify and monitor the CTPAT status of business partners, carriers, and suppliers.
Incident Response:
Assist with investigations and reporting of any security breaches or suspicious activities.
Continuous Improvement:
Monitor changes in regulations, CBP updates, and best practices to continuously enhance the company’s security program.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all CTPAT-related activities, correspondence, and validations.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 2–5 years of experience in trade compliance, logistics, or customs operations.
2-5 years of experience with a CTPAT program.
Strong understanding of CBP regulations and CTPAT Minimum Security Criteria.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication, including report writing.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Certifications (preferred): CTPAT Certification, Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), or similar trade compliance credentials.
