Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a NM or compact RN license and night shift availability.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital Family Birthing Center on the Labor & Delivery unit
Patient population consists of antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn cases
Care includes triage, labor evaluation, fetal assessment, stabilization of emergent conditions, prep for delivery, and postpartum care
Float required to departments or local locations within 20 miles
12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
Epic EMR is used; onsite training can be provided
Responsibilities include comprehensive care for antepartum, laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients including medication administration, newborn stabilization, assistance with deliveries, and handling emergent situations
Care of newborns may involve hearing screenings, lab draws, IV starts, medication administration, phototherapy, and stabilization for transport
Must be prepared to float as needed within the hospital or to other local sites
BCA test will be administered during orientation; only one retake is allowed if initially unsuccessful
Return to work policy requires a one-year gap after last full-time position before rehire as a traveler
Dress code and scrub requirements not specified
Requirements
Active NM or compact state RN license required
BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required
NRP certification and AWHONN intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certification required
Minimum of 2 years current Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
Associates degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during first week of assignment
Experience with Epic EMR preferred but training availableNo local candidates allowed; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
Former perm staff must wait one year before being eligible for travel positions
