Part Time Patient Customer Service Representative

Ascension St. John Macomb Twp
Shift Hours:
Part‑time, PRN (as needed/on‑call), 8‑12 hour shifts

As a Customer Service Representative, you’ll help patients check into the hospital. It’s fast‑paced on occasion and you’ll be the person they rely on to answer questions during registration. You’ll build trust in these interactions by collecting information accurately and quickly, while listening with compassion to address their fears, concerns and questions.
Responsibilities
Work on computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment.
Collect details that must be input correctly between physician and nurse check‑ins, working across multiple programs and typing quickly.
Help patients who may be ill or worried, listening carefully to ease their anxiety and asking follow‑up questions.
Maintain a fast‑paced work environment, staying on your feet to assist patients completing registration while mastering variable health plan and coverage details through training.
Work as part of a supportive team committed to your career growth and professional development.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Excellent customer service experience.
Valid vaccination record, passing a drug test and a background check prior to hire.
Ability to work independently and in a team, multitask, and quickly learn new technology.
For this US‑based position, the base pay range is $15.00 – $20.28 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job‑related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
