Schedule: Full-Time | Monday Friday | 78 hours per day
Contract Dates: August 2025 June 2026 (20252026 School Year)
Caseload: TBD based on school assignment
Blazer Jobs is seeking a certified Social Worker for a full-time, school-based role in Detroit, MI. This position is ideal for a compassionate professional dedicated to supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support in non-academic areas, including counseling, social-emotional development, and crisis intervention, tailored to individual student needs
Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement goals and interventions in accordance with district policies and IEP requirements
Regularly communicate with parents, guardians, and team members to exchange updates and coordinate support strategies
Conduct assessments of student progress using formal and informal tools
Prepare for and actively participate in IEP, ARD, and other relevant meetings related to student services
Requirements:
Valid Michigan Social Worker license or appropriate credential
Experience working in school settings preferred
Strong understanding of counseling strategies, social-emotional support, and crisis intervention
Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and community resources
Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills
