Salary:
$4,883.00 - $6,127.00 per Month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of a Caltrans Bridge Maintenance Supervisor, the CT Equipment Operator II engages in:
Removal of stalled, damaged, abandoned vehicles, motorcycles, light trucks, medium to heavy trucks, various types of trailers, and other wheeled vehicles commonly found on state highways and bridges.
Cleaning and maintaining drainage systems, piers, and various bridge components.
Making minor adjustments and emergency repairs to maintain equipment.
Working non‑traditional schedules to accommodate special events, emergencies, or projects affecting the region or Caltrans.
Eligibility:
Candidates must pass the Caltrans Equipment Operator II Exam or be on the state examination list. Instructions to apply for the exam are provided on the Caltrans career portal.
Working Conditions
Extreme weather conditions (hot and cold).
Height over 200 feet.
High wind conditions.
Work around fast‑moving equipment.
Work around fast‑moving traffic.
Location: San Francisco‑Oakland Bay Bridge, Rm. 103, Oakland, CA 94608, Alameda County.
Minimum Requirements
Valid California Driver’s License (CDL) with a Class A commercial license, Tank Vehicle (N) endorsement, and unrestricted Class A license.
Drug screening passed prior to being hired.
Minimum qualifications verified prior to interview/appointment; unofficial or official transcripts may be required. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency (evaluation agencies: naces.org, aice-eval.org).
