Responsibilities Under the supervision of a Caltrans Maintenance Complete Streets Supervisor, the incumbent will retain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tank (N) endorsement and operate equipment, construction machinery, vehicles and tools. Responsibilities include labor‑intensive work during emergency operations, maintaining the state highway system with a focus on Complete Streets facilities (sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes), performing field site inventory evaluations and condition assessments, and supporting landscaping and highway maintenance. Traveling to remote locations and staying overnight on per diem is required.
Minimum Requirements
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tank (N) endorsement.
Must pass a drug screening before hiring.
Eligibility to be determined by score on the Caltrans Equipment Operator II exam; candidates lacking current eligibility must be on the state examination list.
Provide detailed employment history, certifications, and, if applicable, unofficial transcripts or equivalency evaluations.
