The Opportunity Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented and driven Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of accounts payable while supporting positive vendor relationships and internal collaboration. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
What You’ll Do
Process accounts payable transactions accurately and on time
Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries
Reconcile vendor statements to the accounts payable subledger
Issue purchase orders to vendors as needed
Set up new vendors and maintain required documentation and compliance records
Prepare and process annual 1099 reporting
Assist with documentation and support for external audits
Maintain professional, positive communication with vendors and internal stakeholders
Support the accounting team with special projects and process improvements as needed
What You Bring
Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
Ability to adapt and transition between multiple accounting platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to manage priorities and meet multiple deadlines
Experience in manufacturing or construction environments is a plus
