Traveling Construction Superintendent A.L. Adams Construction Company

Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 per year, plus project‑based bonuses and industry‑leading benefits.

Base Pay Range: $80,000.00/yr – $100,000.00/yr.

Job Type: Full‑time. Seniority Level: Mid‑Senior. Industry: Construction. Function: Management and Manufacturing.

Location: Projects throughout the Southeast (travel required; company truck provided).

Required Travel: Company truck provided; must travel and/or relocate for the duration of each project.

Responsibilities:

Understand project plans and subcontractor scopes.

Ensure all subcontractors work with the latest documents.

Oversee all aspects of field operations at project sites.

Review schedule and budget; ensure adherence.

Communicate with the Project Manager on site issues.

Monitor schedule and update the Project Manager weekly.

Prepare weekly progress updates, photographs, and work with the Project Manager to update the schedule for owner weekly reporting.

Prepare 2‑week look‑ahead schedules.

Conduct pre‑construction meetings for various crafts.

Conduct weekly subcontractor meetings to keep the project on schedule.

Prepare expense reports and maintain receipts per company policy.

Ensure subcontractors complete work within scope as per contract documents.

Inspect work as installed.

Maintain a clean jobsite and enforce subcontractor cleanup.

Document daily reports, photographs, and other measures per company policy.

Implement company safety program per Safety Manual.

Inspect site daily for OSHA and company safety standards compliance.

Conduct weekly safety "toolbox" meetings and keep written records.

Check equipment weekly and file inspection reports.

Maintain equipment rental log and monitor against equipment requirements and budget.

Review monthly small tool and expendables costs to stay in budget.

Implement the quality control program per company policy.

Maintain professional appearance standards for the superintendent role.

Qualifications and Attributes:

3–10 years as a construction field superintendent on commercial projects.

Proficient with computers and MS Office Suite.

Ability to motivate workers and peers positively to achieve best outcomes.

High‑level professional work environment.

Effective communication and persuasive presentation of ideas.

Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.

Stable performance under pressure and opposition.

Understanding of company operations, policies, and procedures.
