Hiring Process The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user‑friendly system that provides the applicant access to real‑time updates throughout the hiring process. HRTS will require new candidates to set up an account, which allows them to track their application’s progress. Through their account portal, candidates will also be able to provide any additional information needed in the hiring process, including setting up interviews as needed. After the final filing date, applicants will receive an email from DoNotReply@cdcr.ns2cloud.com or DoNotReply@CDCR with direction on creating and/or accessing their account. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

To facilitate the successful reintegration of the individuals in our care back to their communities equipped with the tools to be drug‑free, healthy, and employable members of society by providing education, treatment, rehabilitative, and restorative justice programs, all in a safe and humane environment. Working Conditions Positions are available for Placer County. Positions available are for the Parole Agent I Academy not current Parole Agents. Parole Agents MUST reside or relocate to be within 65 miles of the Agent's work address upon graduation from the Basic Parole Agent Academy.
Minimum Requirements All applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the Parole Agent I, Adult Parole classification set forth by the California Department of Human Resources. Applicants must meet the experience and education requirements for either Pattern I or Pattern II as listed on the Parole Agent I, Adult Parole class specification. Experience and education must be clearly defined and any applicable documents (i.e. college transcripts/diploma) must be submitted with your state application.
Special Requirements
Background Investigation clearance prior to being hired.
Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
Psychological Evaluation clearance prior to being hired.
Live Scan fingerprinting and Tuberculosis testing/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by departmental annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
Computerized Voice Stress Analyzer (CVSA) may be used during the selection process.
Desirable Qualifications
Highly motivated individual who enjoys challenges and working in a fast paced, professional environment.
Possess excellent work habits and ability to work independently and as a team member.
Excellent verbal/interpersonal skills in order to manage interactions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include experience with interviewing subjects, report writing and dissemination of detailed information to various sized groups.
Excellent attendance and dependability.
Ability to recount specific details in a written report or in verbal communication.
Proficient PC Skills including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint.
Familiarity with DAPO supervision tools including Virtual Integrated Mobile Office, Strategic Offender Management System, Parole Violation Disposition Tracking System and Electronic Monitoring System.
Willingness to create and promote an equitable and inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated and valued.
