Overview

Boulder County's Department of Human Services, Family and Children's Services Division, is hiring a Caseworker C - Intake Screener. The Intake Hotline Screening Caseworker will perform a variety of professional social work duties in areas such as child abuse and neglect, youth-in-conflict, adults unable to protect their own interests, and licensed foster home or facilities. As a lead caseworker the person will support and at times supervise caseworkers with practice and process needs especially when the supervisor is away. The Lead Caseworker also helps with team training and development, participates and supports the team with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work and provides referral report and research feedback. Perform professional screening interviews by phone and in person, including reports related to child abuse and neglect, youth-in-conflict, and adult protection. Lead and sometimes supervise caseworkers; support practice and processes; assist with team training and DEI efforts; provide referral, report, and research feedback. Conduct thorough research and documentation in computer systems; recognize information gaps and gather additional sources. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable statutes and regulations. Utilize child welfare and protection expertise to guide callers; support community-based prevention and placement decisions. Coordinate with supervisors to ensure consistency of intake and screening operations; manage on-call and after-hours coverage as needed. Recruit and train on-call screening staff; manage schedules and performance; process referrals to disposition as directed. Assist in calendar management for intake response and respond to emergencies as required. Required Qualifications

Education & Experience: Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in human services or related field and two years of professional human services casework experience. Additional related education may count toward required experience. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in social work or a related field. Customer service experience, demonstrated leadership, and APS/CPS work history. Other Requirements

Driver’s license and reliable vehicle; access to transportation for business use. Background check and fingerprinting; job offer contingent on successful clearance. Benefits
