The Division of Administration/Louisiana Property Assistance Agency has a vacancy. This job title has an assigned pay grade of WS-212.
The incumbent of this position is the assistant to the State Fleet Manager and assists in the day‑to‑day operations of a statewide fleet program. This position is also the logistical coordinator for the LPAA surplus property fleet operation. The LPAA Logistical Fleet program assists all state agencies statewide by routinely freighting those items being disposed of to the LPAA Surplus Property Warehouse located at 1059 Brickyard Lane.
The Division of Administration is the state government’s management arm and the hub of its financial operations. Division offices perform a wide variety of activities including the following:
Overseeing the state’s capital construction program
Working to provide state and federal grants for community development
Development of the state budget
Providing technology services
Giving agencies guidance in the state purchasing and contracting process as they seek goods and services
Administering a program that provides federal funds to help Louisiana residents recover from a series of devastating hurricanes
Three years of warehouse experience, or experience in receiving, storing, or distributing supplies or equipment.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Job Duties
Conduct PPRs, coordinate the work schedules and task assignments for, and provide job related training for the five (5) Mobile Equipment Operators /Heavy truck drivers that comprise LPAA’s Logistical Group.
Schedule and dispatch the LPAA fleet operations comprised of five (5) tractor/trailer trucks, three (3) 22‑foot box van trucks and one (1) rollback 1‑ton wrecker to pick up surplus movable property from state agencies statewide. This operation requires the incumbent to contact and coordinate pickup schedules, on a daily basis with personnel, statewide, at all levels from administrative to clerical.
Assign the proper equipment to be utilized for pickup of surplus property as determined by the size, weight and quantity of surplus property to be picked up.
Ensure pickup schedules are not outside of the time parameters set by LPAA and monitored by the LaPAS Performance Indicator Tracking System.
Responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of the LPAA logistical fleet, consisting of five (5) tractor/trailer trucks, three (3) 22‑foot box van trucks and one (1) rollback 1‑ton wrecker. Assure mileage logs and scheduled maintenance events are current. Implement safety policies and schedule maintenance for LPAA’s passenger fleet consisting of seven (7) passenger‑carrying fleet vehicles.
Oversee record keeping of data that tracks performance and effectiveness of the LPAA logistical operation. This data is reported to the Legislative Auditors Office, and forwarded to the Commissioner of Administration through the LaPAS Performance Indicator System. Data is verified for accuracy prior to the quarterly report submissions and the end‑of‑year report submittal.
Act as the agency Safety Liaison for LPAA. Handle accident reports, safety meetings, and workers’ compensation. Ensure LPAA complies with the Division of Administration’s safety policies. Any other duties assigned by a supervisor. Develop and implement training programs for safety, forklift operators, lifting, trailer loading/unloading, etc. Assist state fleet manager with providing fleet managers with state fleet program requirements.
Position‑Specific Details Appointment Type: This vacancy will be filled by new hire or by promotion of a current permanent status classified employee. A permanent status employee may be required to serve a new probationary period in lieu of promotion.
