Assistant/Associate Professor – Tenure Track or Tenure Department: Rutgers School of Dental Medicine – Oral Biology (RSDM). Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS), Newark, NJ.

Position: Assistant or Associate Professor (rank) – tenure track or with tenure. "Assistant/Associate Professor – TT or TE" (Posting Number 24FA1339).

Posting Summary:

The Department of Oral Biology is searching for a Molecular Biologist to fill two (2) faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor – tenure track or with tenure. The Department is an integral member of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and has access to highly qualified PhD students.

Responsibilities:

Develop and supervise scientific projects and research initiatives designed to place the department in a position of national prominence.

Collaborate in discoveries that enhance the understanding of bacterial pathogenesis and/or host susceptibility to oral disease.

Develop and maintain an innovative, internationally competitive research program supported by external funding.

Participate in training PhD students and contribute to the Department’s graduate and undergraduate research and teaching programs.

Qualifications – Minimum Education and Experience:

PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.

A track record of funding from NIH, NSF, or comparable institutes.

Experience in molecular biology related to genetics and/or genomics of oral microbes or host susceptibility agents.

Publications in Oral Biology or related area preferred.

Record of student training.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with genomics and host microbe interactions.

Record of teaching and training.

Salary: Minimum $114,622 annual salary. Final salary offer may be determined by qualifications, experience, expertise, and availability of department or grant funds. Competitive compensation packages to attract and retain top talent.
