What You Will Be Doing: As an Office Assistant 2, you will provide a full range of clerical and receptionist services, playing a vital role in the office's workflow and contributing to our mission of protecting vulnerable Alaskans. Your duties will include data review and entry, coding and processing invoices and timesheets, general money handling, maintaining spreadsheets and trackers, answering the phone, routing calls, and greeting guests.

The working environment you can expect: This position is conveniently located at 4601 Business Park Blvd, Bldg K, in mid‑town Anchorage with access to restaurants, shopping, bike paths, and nearby Cuddy Family Midtown Park. Free parking is provided. The workweek is Monday through Friday, with full‑time office hours. This is not a telework position.

Who we are looking for:

Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.

Ability to compare data from a variety of sources for accuracy and completeness, identify discrepancies or inaccuracies, and make corrections.

Working knowledge of the principles and practices of clerical support procedures, including account keeping, requisitioning, stock maintenance, filing, correspondence, and reporting.

Ability to search for, select, compile, and/or summarize data and information.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relations with those contacted in the course of the work.

Education High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience that includes clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs. Education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equals one month of experience; 150 hours of vocation education equals one month of experience).

Special Note: High school diploma equivalent means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D.; 2) completion of any basic adult education course equivalent to 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 course hours per week); 3) acceptance in full standing by an accredited college or university; 4) highest grade of school completed plus an amount of paid or volunteer experience that totals 12 years and includes basic clerical tasks.

Some positions in this class may require the incumbent to operate motor vehicles. Such positions require a regular driver’s license and be 18 years of age or older. Some positions may require skill in typing.
