What You'll Do
Design and implement hardware integration solutions for aerospace and defense platforms
Build real-time systems for avionics, satellite, and unmanned vehicle applications
Develop software interfaces for flight systems, sensors, and mission-critical hardware
Integrate and test embedded systems across multiple aerospace protocols and standards
Work on hardware-in-the-loop simulation and validation environments
Collaborate with aerospace customers on system architecture and integration requirements
Ensure compliance with DO-178C, DO-254, and other aerospace certification standards
What You Bring Strong experience with:
Aerospace systems integration and avionics architectures
Real-time embedded systems (RTOS, bare-metal, Linux RT)
Aerospace communication protocols (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, SpaceWire, CAN)
Hardware-software co-design for flight systems
Systems programming in C/C++ and embedded development
Integration testing and hardware-in-the-loop simulation

Satellite systems, payload integration, or space-grade hardware
DO-178C/DO-254 certification processes
FPGA development and hardware acceleration
GNC (Guidance, Navigation, Control) systems
Defense programs and classified development environments
What We're Looking For We're looking for an aerospace systems engineer who can bridge the gap between flight hardware and intelligent software — someone who has shipped systems that fly.
You should have:
Deep experience integrating complex aerospace hardware and software systems
Understanding of the unique constraints of flight-critical systems
Track record of successful system integration on aerospace programs
Ability to work across mechanical, electrical, and software domains
Excitement about bringing AI-native tooling to aerospace and defense
Requirements:
Master's or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years of aerospace systems integration experience
Experience with defense or space programs preferred
Active security clearance or ability to obtain one preferred
Willingness to work startup hours, in-person (weekends included) at our San Francisco office
Work authorization in the United States
Why Join We're building the intelligence layer for hardware — real-time systems that control physical machines with zero tolerance for latency or failure.
What we offer:
Startup-level equity and highly competitive salary
Ownership over aerospace integration that defines how flight systems are built
Problems at the intersection of AI, embedded systems, and aerospace
Close collaboration with aerospace and defense customers building the future
