Human Resources Generalist 1 - OSA - Office of Human Resources Management - Kanawha Co. 1 Vacancy - Kanawha County

Nature of Work Under general supervision of the director of Human Resources for the Office of Shared Administration (OSA), this position provides support services to multiple agencies related to personnel administration for the Office of Human Resources Management, the Office of Management Information Services, Operations and Finance in a specialized capacity. It serves as a resource and point of contact for the entire HR network for the Departments of Health, Human Services, and Health Facilities to obtain information for special projects. Responsibilities include advising staff on best practices, backup support to other HR staff, personnel transactions processing, posting job advertisements, compiling statistical information and reports, and overseeing the onboarding and offboarding process for the Office of Shared Administration.

Minimum Qualifications

Training:

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Substitution for Education:

Candidates may substitute related experience for the required education at the rate of one (1) year of experience for thirty (30) semester hours of education.

Experience:

Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional human resources, payroll, bookkeeping or accounting experience.

Substitution for Experience:

Graduate coursework from a regionally accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience at the rate of one (1) year of experience for fifteen (15) semester hours of education.

Note:

A valid driver's license may be required.

Other Information:

Years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional supervisory and/or management experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
