Controls Analyst (Trust & Safety) - USDS
The USDS Security & Privacy - Risk & Compliance team is responsible for managing USDS security compliance in accordance with U.S. compliance requirements and objectives, providing industry‑leading governance, risk, and compliance services. The core service offerings include: Compliance & Security Risk Management, Controls & Certifications, Security Compliance Policies, Charters & Protocols, Vendor Program & Third‑Party Risk Management, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Platform, and Security & Compliance Behavior & Culture. Our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office three days a week, or as directed by their manager or department. TikTok is seeking a Content Assurance Controls Analyst to manage and oversee the control environment across the platform, ensuring alignment with TikTok’s guidelines and trust & safety commitments.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross‑functional control owners (security, privacy, engineering, trust & safety, etc.) to test the design and implementation of Content Assurance controls, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
Evaluate the design, implementation, and effectiveness of Content Assurance controls by performing walkthroughs, collecting evidence, and testing the controls.
Develop and maintain standardized testing methodologies and reporting mechanisms for consistent execution of controls testing.
Identify control gaps, assess the severity of findings, and work with owners to develop and track remediation plans.
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of experience in controls testing functions, preferably in areas involving content assurance, recommendation engines, trust & safety, or security/compliance assessments.
Strong understanding of Content Assurance industry standards and best practices, including control design assessment, evidence evaluation, and testing.
Hands‑on experience in a Content Assurance or Trust & Safety function, with a desire to utilize it in a controls/compliance capacity.
Demonstrated ability to gather technical and procedural evidence from stakeholders, coordinate reviews, and assess controls against requirements.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including experience identifying control gaps and working with control owners on remediation.
Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working across multiple functions and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Foundational knowledge in Content Assurance/Moderation or security domains (AI/ML, Data Science, Identity and Access Management, Configuration Management, Vulnerability Management, Incident Management, or a related field) and familiarity with related technologies and tool stacks.
Experience with modern GRC tooling (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow).
One of the following certifications, or equivalent: CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, etc.
Previous experience working with engineering teams and the ability to communicate control requirements to a variety of audiences.
Strong writing and documentation skills; clear and concise.

Job Information Compensation Description (Annually): The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $118,800 - $269,800 annually. Compensation may vary outside this range based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package and may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, restricted stock units, and additional benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year, and 17 days of paid personal time (prorated upon hire and accruing with tenure). The company reserves the right to modify or change these benefits at any time.
