Come Join an Inclusive Team The position of Production Shift Supervisor is a team leader, coordinator, coach and mentor to a team of production operators. The Production Shift Supervisor has responsibility for the safe and successful production of all products and processes within the team and uses continuous improvement techniques to drive development in all areas of the business. This position will oversee our night shift. Schedule will be Monday‑Friday from 6pm‑2am.
A Day in the Life
Adhere to all company HSE policies and standards
Assist in the development and support of projects that contribute to DEI, Safety, Quality, Inventory, Delivery and Profitability
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing of high fill plastics, including process modernization
Assign responsibilities and communication priorities in shift recap
Coordinate production schedule with Maintenance, OTCs, Inventory Specialist, and Customer
Enter daily shift hours and numbers. Record monthly totals when necessary
Assist operators on production floor when necessary
Troubleshoot processing problems
Synch PLM and review BOMs to ensure proper products and formations are being used
Approve CATS Time
Conduct interviews
Administer new hire orientations
Assign correct roles and add‑on tasks for new hires
Maintain RF user master data for new hires
Develop S levels with team members
Maintain employee training records and update when necessary
Manage vacation approvals, coordinating with, when applicable, Maintenance Supervisor
Compile the needed information for runs such as BOM, run packets and batch codes
Optimize and sequence production schedule
Track daily production, waste, downtime, and make recommendations for root cause analysis
Coordinate upcoming trials by understanding customer needs, and coordinating with all departments as required
Daily assignments to achieve performance expectations
Assist operators in problem solving
Direct routine equipment maintenance and set‑up
Takes leadership role for training and coaching activities
Continuously evaluate workforce and equipment capabilities and effectiveness to recommend where improvements can be made
Maintain attendance records
Perform all other duties assigned by Manager
You Bring This Value Min. Qualifications
2+ years experience in supervisory role in manufacturing or plastics processing facility or equivalent experience as a lead person or step‑up
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience in Lean Six Sigma, 5‑S is strongly preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to work well with a team and independently
Effective problem solver
Ability to work overtime or weekends on short notice as needed
Ability to apply basic mathematics skills
Ability to work proactively and support other personnel and departments
Possess a professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills in leading and mentoring team members
Maintain good attendance habits; missing minimal work
Preferred Qualifications
Stand on feet for 8‑12 hours
Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
Ability to work in and around dusty areas
Willing and able to comply with respiratory fit testing (where applicable)
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required to be worn
Ability to work in moderate noise level atmosphere
Ability to work in an environment that is not temperature‑controlled; very warm temperatures in summer months
Work from heights at or greater than 50 feet
