HR Generalist (HEOa) POSITION DETAILS This position will report to the Talent Acquisition and Engagement Manager at The City College at New York. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Human Resources Generalist duties include, but are not limited to the following responsibilities:

Provide support and guidance to HR Recruitment Team and all employees in relation to policies and procedures, governance, and the CUNY/PSC contract

Develop, monitor, implement and update processes to improve and streamline recruitment

Oversee the employment and hiring processes for titles in CUNYfirst and TAM and WorkDay; Review the appointment and onboarding processes, work closely with benefits and payroll staff to ensure new staff are hired seamlessly. This also includes staffing, recruitment, appointments, reappointments, tenure/certificate of continuous employment (CCE), faculty stipends, multiple position reports, tracking, academic leaves and special leaves, etc. Maintain accurate records of promotions, salary increments and tenure for Teaching Instructional staff

Consistently review current personnel policies and procedures, develop and recommend improvements where applicable. Work closely with Payroll to track payroll data, submit spreadsheets for internal review, and provide information on data. Manage applicable tracking spreadsheets and reports to ensure all data is accurate

Partner with CCNY Business partners (Human Resources Coordinators) HRCs to keep them abreast of recruitment changes

Perform routine audits and work with the Data Analyst to ensure CUNYfirst data is accurate and actions are reported timely and correctly

Participate in the data integrity review in preparation for the implementation of WorkDay for all titles listed - Work collaboratively with senior management on institutional effectiveness and measurement of Instructional success

Ensure compliance with University and College policies as well as the Professional Staff Congress/CUNY Collective Bargaining Agreement

Coordinate special projects, employee programs, and events. Create and conduct presentations and trainings where applicable

Prepare routine correspondence, electronic materials and documents externally and internally

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of CUNY experience

Intermediate/advanced Excel skills

Excellent verbal, writing, and analytical ability

Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to clarity, tone, and detail

Growth mindset and strong attention to detail

Aptitude for problem-solving

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Strong research skills, including the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Administers various Human Resources functions and programs for one or more employee group(s) exercising discretion and independent judgment.

Oversees two or more human resources functions for an employee group, such as, but not limited to, staffing, recruitment, employee relations, appointment administration, compensation, human resource information systems (HRIS), training and development, benefits, and/or administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs.

Ensures human resources functions, programs, and actions are in compliance with university rules and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, employment laws, and college policies and procedures.

Interprets and provides professional counsel and advice to employees and managers on HR programs and policies, CUNY rules, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable employment laws. Researches and resolves multifaceted human resources issues.

Recommends new approaches, best practices, policies, and systems to improve office efficiency and services provided.

Performs related duties as assigned.

FLSA Exempt

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary Range: $98,995 - $109,025. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
