Utility - In-Room Dining (Part Time) at Terranea Resort You will be an integral member of the team that creates distinctively different and authentic experiences for our guests. You will be responsible for supporting the serving staff, ensuring prompt service and overseeing the cleanliness and general upkeep of the kitchen and In-room dining area.

Responsibilities

Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction

Retrieve tables from guest room and floors in an organized and accurate manner

Ensures supplies are properly stocked

Clear, clean and set-up tables, chairs, linens, glassware and silverware in an unobtrusive manner

Assists F&B operations when coverage is needed

Assist with guest requests

Maintains a safe and pleasant work environment

Instills a calm, organized approach in all stressful situations

Guarantees the cleanliness and safety of the IRD equipment

Ensures service standards are being applied

Ensures cleanliness and safety of workspace

Promotes high associate morale

Resolves guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness

Maintains a strong knowledge of food & beverage trends, focusing on IRD

Provides general resort information for guests

Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Terranea Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest

Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events

Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information

Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude

Communicates all pertinent information to team members

Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on‑duty supervisor.

Ensures proper handling, cleaning and sanitation of equipment, china, glass and silver.

Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Terranea Resort dress code standards

Adhere to departmental policies and procedures

Effectively communicate with peers, management, line and front‑of‑house employees

Practice effective listening: (seek to understand)

Perform related duties as required

Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general property

Subscribe to proper grooming, dress and uniform standards as set forth by Company policy

Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Employee Handbook

Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled/mandatory training sessions and meetings is required.

Must be able to read, write and speak English

Must have excellent phone etiquette

Must be able to work well under pressure

Must possess excellent communication skills

Must always ensure a teamwork environment

Must be able to prioritize and multi‑task

Position regularly involves lifting food trays and plates weighing up to 30 lbs

Frequent kneeling, pushing and pulling, lifting tables and chairs is required

Constant standing and walking throughout shift

Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, or ramps

Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays

Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates

Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner

Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests

Experience, Education, & Licensure

Must have valid Food Handler’s Card/Certificate

High School diploma preferred

Must have valid driver’s license and meet resort driving standards

Compensation Base Pay Start Rate: $17.08/Hr. We offer paid time off/sick time and are proud to offer participation in a 401(k) plan with a company match!
