Duties Daily Duties
Scan procedure reports
Assist with recalls
Calculate procedure costs
File documentation into eCW system
Other duties as assigned
Front Desk Duties
Ensure patient has current referral on date of service; obtain referral if necessary.
Verify insurance benefits and eligibility prior to office visits & procedures.
Collect applicable co‑payment, coinsurance, deductible or outstanding balance from patient and post all payments collected.
Research & assist patients with questions regarding balances, including collecting applicable payments.
Medical Assistant Duties
Triage patient, take vitals, enter chief complaint, past & present history into EMR system.
Enter all current medications and prescriptions into EMR system.
Ensure patient charts are complete and required records are requested.
Call‑in new prescriptions and refills and obtain authorization if necessary.
Care Coordinator Duties
Schedule all procedures to be performed by the physician.
Obtain all authorizations for procedures and tests.
Check‑out patients at the end of their visit and provide next‑step instructions.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2 years experience as a medical assistant or similar setting (AAMA certification preferred).
Medical terminology knowledge required.
Spanish (English/Spanish) bilingual preferred.
eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience ≥ 1 year (preferred).
GI experience desired.
