Respiratory Therapist
Job Description
The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport according to medical prescriptions, while working within the scope of their professional license and with minimal supervision. The therapist evaluates patients and recommends treatment plans, explains procedures and equipment to patients, and provides necessary education upon discharge. Responsibilities
Conduct physician-prescribed routine treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizers. Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods, including oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal suctioning. Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy, and conduct routine reviews of patient chest X-rays. Perform pulmonary function studies and assist with respiratory care-related procedures. Provide tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes. Maintain accurate respiratory therapy records and communicate effectively with healthcare providers. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Current Respiratory Therapy licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Schedule
