Your Day as an Individual Support Worker As a Part‑Time Individual Support Worker at Owen Health Care, you will play a pivotal role in assisting behavioral therapists to create effective behavioral therapy programs tailored to children and adolescents. Your responsibilities include implementing individualized service plans, providing behavioral interventions in home and community settings, managing youth with behavioral challenges, ensuring a safe environment, monitoring and documenting observations, and developing engaging recreational activities that support the youth’s emotional and social growth.
Does this sound LIKE YOU? To excel as an Individual Support Worker at Owen Health Care Inc., you must possess a college degree with one year of work experience or a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED and three years of supervised experience in implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with children and their families. The ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines is crucial. You should also demonstrate empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents in a supportive and nurturing manner. Prior experience in behavioral interventions and a commitment to ongoing professional development are highly valued attributes for this role.
