Your Day as an Individual Support Worker As a Part‑Time Individual Support Worker at Owen Health Care, you will assist behavioral therapists in creating effective behavioral therapy programs tailored to children and adolescents. You will implement individualized service plans, provide behavioral interventions in home and community settings, actively manage youth with behavioral challenges, and develop and initiate safety standards while instructing youth on positive behavioral practices.
Responsibilities
Implement individualized service plans.
Provide behavioral interventions in home and community settings.
Actively manage youth with behavioral challenges.
Develop and initiate safety standards and provide instruction on positive behavioral practices.
Monitor and document observations of youth behavior, allowing necessary modifications to daily activities that align with therapeutic goals.
Develop and implement engaging recreational activities that support the emotional and social growth of the youth.
Qualifications
College degree with one year of work experience or a high‑school diploma/GED with three years of supervised experience implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with children, families, and team members.
Ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents in a supportive and nurturing manner.
Prior experience in behavioral interventions and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
