Job Description Registered Respiratory Therapist - Travel Position Location Hawaii
Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule Must be flexible, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Job Description This position works in the respiratory therapy unit of a hospital and exercises considerable independent clinical judgment in applying scientific knowledge and theory to practical respiratory care problems in accordance with physician's orders. The role involves administering respiratory tests and treatment to patients with respiratory diseases and disorders, including critically ill, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
Responsibilities
Initiate, monitor, and maintain life support systems for patients requiring continuous ventilation.
Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation as part of the resuscitation team.
Assess and evaluate patients with respiratory disorders, recommending methods of treatment to physicians.
Administer age-specific treatments, providing patient education and support.
Operate pulmonary function testing equipment and conduct tests.
Maintain safety and infection control policies while ensuring a clean environment.
Provide cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and patient education regarding respiratory care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRTT) recognized by the National Board of Respiratory Care is preferred. Must have a Hawaii RT license.
