WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING The
Shipping Clerk
is responsible for handling all aspects of the shipping department, emphasizing the accurate transfer of finished products to customers in a timely and consistent manner while meeting food safety and customer specifications.
WHAT WE NEED Essential functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
Checks outbound twice a day.
Processes yard check and uses information to reconcile spot shipments from previous work day.
Schedules inbound/outbound loads with carriers.
Checks in drivers and assigns dock doors.
Communicates with loaders to ensure that drivers are being loaded in the correct door.
Bills shipments along with making labels for shipments that require while ensuring there are no discrepancies.
Verifies quantities of all product shipping on each individual shipment.
Email carriers with loaded trailer information.
Print picklist daily for orders to be shipped.
Organizes, maintains and files paperwork.
Monitors drivers log to ensure carriers are being loaded and released in a timely manner to avoid detention charges.
Ensures at the end of the shift that all shipments are accounted for (shipped, rescheduled or spot shipped)
Assist in reconciliation of CHEP pallet report.
Assist with yearly physical inventory.
Performs other task as assigned
Required education and experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum one (1) year shipping or receiving experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Microsoft Office preferred (Outlook, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to use a ten-key calculator, office copier, and scanne
Basic math skills
Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed
Self-motivated and responsible
Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
