Overview
LHH is assisting a downtown Austin commercial litigation law firm seek a
Bi-lingual Spanish Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant . This candidate will
support up to 3 partners and 1 associate
and
assist working an average of 300 cases per year . Salary ranges from
$70,000 - $85,000 per year DOE Paid Parking Work 1 day per week remotely after 90-day onsite probationary period Key Responsibilities
Manage
collections, invoicing, and billing Perform
weekly timekeeping
using
Aderant
and
Intapp Handle
e-filing
and
trial preparation
(supporting
10-12 cases
regularly) Maintain
calendars
and
docketing Draft and proofread legal documents (including
memos ,
discovery , etc.) Responsible for
filing
and maintaining case documents Manage a
caseload of approximately 29 cases Must be familiar with
multidistrict litigation Work hours may vary as needed Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. The
High school diploma or GED
required. Years of Experience
Minimum of 5 years' prior experience in a Texas law firm environment. Required Experience & Skills
Commercial litigation
and
defense litigation background required; Eminent Domain experience a plus Experience with
legal formatting/styles Strong
proofreading
and
document prep
skills Proficiency in
Aderant
and
Intapp
for timekeeping Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service: answer phone lines and communicate with clients. Draft standard pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, and other documents. Perform e-filings, prepare pleadings notebooks, update indexes, and prepare exhibits. Maintain and organize files. Participate in the timely review and submission of prebills and/or client bills. Accurately file court documents both electronically and in document form and determine and follow any local or judge specific requirements related to same. Coordinate and make arrangements for travel and meetings. Accurately prepare and submit client intake forms. Regularly update client files, notebooks, and pleading indices. Maintain attorney-specific case lists, charts, and status of cases and outcomes. Enter, review, and revise timesheets accurately. Proofread all documents to ensure accuracy and completeness. Understand and comply with office policies concerning file management, case lists, filing, and recordkeeping. Effectively manage and monitor calendaring of deadlines and key dates. Qualifications
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) is required to support communication with Spanish-speaking clients and stakeholders. Proficient knowledge of legal documents, formatting, table of contents and table of authorities, styles, track changes, inserting and labeling pdf documents, and converting pdf documents to Word. Strong computer proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Experience working with a Document Management System (iManage experience a plus). Experience with time entry, e-Filing (state, federal, and regulatory agencies),
